In the south of Gironde, just an hour from Bordeaux by motorway, this authentic late 17th-century Carthusian monastery faces its outbuildings, with which it forms a square courtyard.
Access via the porch reveals an elegant main building flanked by two pavilions.
The through entrance leads to the living room, dining room, library and kitchen on the right, and three bedrooms and a study on the left.
Two large suites occupy the first floor of the side pavilions.

In addition to the Carthusian monastery’s own outbuildings, including a caretaker’s cottage, there are other farm buildings, including a tenant farm in need of renovation.

The property is set in the centre of a 40-hectare estate of meadows and woods.

THE CHARTREUSE
A through entrance leads on the right to a vast, light-filled 68 m² lounge with stone fireplace and French-style ceiling. This leads into a dining room with wood panelling and fireplace, which communicates with a family kitchen.
The family kitchen leads back to the lounge via a hallway with cupboard, from which the staircase leads to the first floor of the east pavilion.

To the left of the entrance hall, a corridor leads to a first bedroom (34 m²) with en suite shower room and a study (14 m²), and then to the west pavilion where a hallway with staircase and toilet leads to two bedrooms (19 and 29 m²), one with en suite shower room, the other with dressing room and bathroom.

On the first floor of each bungalow, a large landing leads to a bedroom (44 and 49 m²) with bathroom and toilet.


THE COMMONS
Facing the Carthusian monastery, an entrance porch separates a long building comprising, to the west, several rooms including a 50 m² (538 sq ft) recreation room, a boiler room, a garage and a 60 m² (646 sq ft) wine storehouse, and to the east, a workshop and a caretaker’s cottage with 4 main rooms including two bedrooms.

THE OUTBUILDINGS
Set back from this ensemble forming a courtyard, a beautiful farmhouse with an awning spans approx. 130 m² (1,399 sq ft) with 5 main rooms topped by an attic.
A large shed bordered by two stables and a hangar complete this very elegant country property.

The property is certainly in need of works to bring it up to today’s standards of comfort and regulations, but has been well maintained and preserved from unfortunate restorations. This is becoming rare.
