Description
Behind a gatehouse protecting this exceptional place, one discovers the remarkable symmetry of the layout of this 18th-century listed chateau and its outbuildings.
Listed as a Historic Monument:
The chateau is entirely listed as a Historic Monument, including its interior decor, the facades and roofs of the gatehouse and outbuildings, including the “modern” (19th-century) buildings, and the water features. The park is listed in the Inventory of Historic Monuments.
Description of the chateau:
A bright stone facade (25 m by 10 m) features three entrances at the top of a few steps of the perron. The entrance French doors are topped with friezes of flower garlands.
In the center, one accesses the entrance with a black and white cabochon floor leading to the Louis XVI wooden staircase.
To the left, a living room (about 36 sqm) is arranged in the former kitchens. The large stone fireplace with a stove makes it a comfortable and warm room. The superb open view of the countryside can be admired.
To the right of the entrance, a vestibule with two French doors provides a more formal welcome. Beyond, an office (about 23 sqm) reveals its elegance with a Louis XVI fireplace and overmantel. Behind the entrance, the dining room (about 36 sqm) at the back with a French door and a window features an alcove and a niche for placing a faience stove and another for a water fountain.
To the right, the remarkable grand salon is adorned with wood paneling and a large Louis XVI fireplace on a tiled floor (about 50 sqm). It is illuminated by 2 windows and offers a more intimate view of the park with its centuries-old trees at the rear.
To the left of the dining room, a door opens onto the former pantry converted into a kitchen followed by a scullery, a laundry room, and toilets. A door leads to the first living room.

THE OUTBUILDINGS IN THE COURTYARD
The gatehouse
This charming entrance porch perpendicular to the chateau allows an arrival that reveals this prestigious ensemble. The gatehouse is topped with a balanced 17th-century framework. Its slate roof is in good condition.
The orangery:
To the right when looking at the chateau, a large outbuilding 39 meters long with 3 beautiful gable windows. Behind these windows, serving as an orangery, is a large room (about 100 sqm) showcasing a highlighted framework and an old tiled floor. In continuation of this room, a large barn (about 250 sqm) under its exposed framework. The entire building represents 425 sqm of floor space. Next to it, a garage with a wooden lattice door.
Opposite the orangery, an outbuilding with a triangular pediment: This superb stone building (about 25 m long) has beautiful openings that could allow interior development. Very harmonious, it is listed as a Historic Monument like the other outbuildings for its roofs and facades. It is 27 meters long and has a floor area of 125 sqm.
In the second part of the park:
The stables: In continuation of the orangery, based on an original 16th-century residential building, are the stables (about 160 sqm of floor space).
The stables: Opposite, a large stone outbuilding of about 200 sqm.
The caretaker’s house: Identified as a “modern building” (19th century) by the Historic Monuments, this charming house has not been inhabited for a long time.
The icehouse and water features: The icehouse, one of the last in the department, is one of the masterpieces of this superb ensemble and remains in its original good condition. Inside, a depth of 3 meters is dug under superb vaults. It is located near the chateau.
Below the farm buildings and the park and facing the property at the bottom, the listed pond receives drainage. It offers itself as a mirror of the orderly ensemble of buildings.
The water mirror behind the stables perpendicularly, maintained and clean, creates an elegant new perspective. Paved, it has just been cleaned throughout its length. Its 120-meter length, harmoniously wooded, makes it a romantic promenade with new views of the property.
The ISMH park (about 10 ha) and the property lands (35 ha): In front of the property on the courtyard side, a grass area is designed and bordered by access paths leading to the chateau.
One admires the exceptional view of the ensemble over protected and nuisance-free countryside. At the rear, on the east side, a park with a central lawn bordered by a lime tree avenue and meadows planted with noble trees.
The whole includes 45 hectares of land, 35 ha rented, and 10 ha around the property not rented. The rented plots include 4.5 ha of poplar forests and half a hectare of hardwoods.
The total pastures generate 6,000 €/year, which is used for property maintenance.
This preserved estate has never lost its original elements nor the remarkable quality of its environment. It will delight architecture lovers.
